Flu numbers are high in most states and almost all cases are variants of H3N2 and the vaccine includes H3N2

Get your flu vax if you haven’t already! Even if you still get the flu, the symptoms will be easier to manage if you get vaccinated!

It’s still legally called “The Kennedy Center”. Anything calling it anything else is showing they’re a mouthpiece for the regime.

From the perspective of the average person in universe, Star Wars is the story of Count Dooku warning everyone Palpatine was a tyrant and being tragically ignored the misguided old Jedi companions he was forced to take up arms against, only to be vindicated upon death.

I used to work in television rights and clearances and so I can verify that actually you can simply ask everyone first. That’s a thing everyone was doing just fine.

2026 is going to be a year of both horrors and victories, and I think many people, both on the left and liberals new to political activism, will struggle with the victories.

Therapy has taught me it's important to inoculate yourself knowing you can't pretend how you'll respond when you win.

This is why it’s so important to trace things back to the beginning whenever possible.

I believe @rauchway.bsky.social calls these “historical urban legends”
looking up the source of quotes, whether for a book or a video script, is great for figuring out when a quote everyone "knows" and has repeated for ages is actually just weird bullshit someone else made up

Succinct and simple explanation of why ICE agents are acting like lawless thugs: because the Supreme Court allows for it.
Why ICE Is Getting Away With It
The Constitution inarguably applies to federal immigration agents—but the Supreme Court has taken away the hope of ever holding them to that standard.

Rian Johnson Rick Rolled us all
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

A good reminder that Jon Stewart is actually a guy with a decent amount of shitty reactionary tendencies
Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

A great example of how the @nytimes.com centers white Americans and Trump supporters in its anecdotal political coverage. You never see stories like this about Black Democrats whose cities are cracked in Republican gerrymandering to give them Republican elected officials.
They Wanted a Conservative State. They Might Get a Democratic Representative Instead.

The passage of Proposition 50, which redrew California’s congressional map, means that all of the state’s conservative north is likely to be represented by Democrats.

Prosecute them all. Beyond the depravity of this, it's pure theft. The local prosecutor should open an investigation and charge them all.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

Terrible framing. It presumes JD Vance is not an anti-Semite himself and that he simply chooses to tolerate them in his pro-Semite party as a political sacrifice.

This is false. Vance is their leader. He is a white nationalist anti-Semite actively building the party around others like himself.
J. D. Vance has "clearly made the calculation that anti-Semites are part of the Republican Party’s base, and he can’t afford to shunt them to the side as he plots his own presidential bid," Franklin Foer argues. theatln.tc/aaUENxUw
