we all know that investors, far from being rational actors with perfect information, tend to be ignorant trend-chasing dipshits

but rarely is it so abundantly clear how little they know about an industry they are invested in

On almost everything – fraud, polarisation, radicalisation, misinformation – evidence suggests that over 60s are in much more urgent need of online protection and education than teenagers.

But that issue gets zero political attention, and is a total non-starter. Nothing good will come of it.
This was a minor story on London news this morning - but suspect is a real cautionary (and alarming) tale of an older man getting radicalised online.

I really can’t exaggerate how completely weird this move in silver is. Markets just don’t go parabolic for months at a time. Speaks to the fundamental cause of this move in silver: momentum and nobody with a balance sheet to take the other side of the move.

You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

This is cartoonishly evil. How do you go through a moment like this as a human being and not realize that you are, unquestionably, the villain?
Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.

I wonder how many schools used a VPN of some kind to secure remote schooling during the pandemic? That'll become illegal too.

And the government will say "we don't mean that sort of VPN". How. Do. You. Tell. The. Difference?
