DHSC published its impact statement for the 10 Year Health Plan this week (yes, that is 6 months after it published the plan)

It's more measured and clear-eyed than the original document and quite a contrast to some of the effusive optimism in the plan

While patient demand for GP appointments is rising, an increasing number of GPs are struggling to find work.

Doctors and patients need to see an urgent solution to this.

A MAGNIFICENT MILESTONE
70% of people with cancer survive more than 5 years - many of whom are cured or will outlive the cancer.
Treatments including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, and targeted therapies continue to improve.
Research must continue.

Better treatment options have improved survival rates in the U.S., according to a report from the American Cancer Society.

I dont doubt that people have poor / negligent experiences of healthcare but it is really unfair that we allow google reviews of GP practices with no right of reply on there due to confidentiality.

I am extremely confused as to why the UK government and police are saying Grok’s mass-scale CSAM generation is an issue for Ofcom.

This isn’t about X failing to moderate CSAM, which is an Online Safety Act issue. It is about the company and its technology being actively involved in its generation.

The end of week 5 of our ARI (respiratory) hub. Current performance is 168% (physical maximum capacity) of contract.

Our intervention fail rate this year to date is under 1% (did patient seek GP urgent care, 111, UTC, or ED within 1 week of ARI hub). Last year it was 3%.

Dont deny the craziness of AI based total triage. But wanting an appointment for prophylactically preventing a viral infection to become bacterial through antibiotic is pseudoscientific. Have all the neighbourhoods you want. Not putting a dent in perceived need.
Tried using the new online GP booking system? I have – and it was almost as miserable as my chest infection | Simon Hattenstone
Wes Streeting’s plan to make booking easier made sense. Then I encountered an AI triagist, a stubborn receptionist and a Kafkaesque vicious circle, says Guardian feature writer Simon Hattenstone

The 'clogging up' of A+Es is not due to the 2% of people coming to ED with this quite arbitrary list of conditions. The main reason they're clogged is poor flow through hospitals!
