I started a talk a few weeks ago by talking about how many of these otherwise healthy young men are ending up on my table with heart disease. The link is broadly anecdotal at the moment – no cardiovascular research exists with TRT in patients who DON’T have a pre existing proven deficiency

Functional medicine is grifty pseudoscientific horsemanure, an insult to evidence based preventative health/primary care medicine.

In the post mortem of political upsets or swings, the sensible centrist thinkpieces when right wingers win is always that the left needs to move to the centre.

When its someone clearly on the left of status quo, we hardly ever get advocacy of democratic socialist progressivism or the like.

You don’t need antibiotics for a cough or fever, your kids don’t either. Most of the time, they especially don’t need them when a primary care physician deemed them to not need antibiotics.

Total triage 8-6:30 pm in flu/covid season is something else man. Trying to avoid thinking about it but being the Monday on-call GP is just permastress.

The most remarkable thing about Mamdani is definitive proof that centre-left wing politics doesnt grasp. You bring people to you with your vision, not just insincerely spouting populist (or centre/right) policies. Labour could easily get those libdem, green etc against reform

As a parent of a child who almost became a mortality at 6m old of Chickenpox
(Secondary Pneumonia, empyema, sepsis)

8-20 children die of Chickenpox each year

No child is a small statistic, it’s genuinely worth vaccinating your children, trust me you don’t want to be a statistic

Come and chat to your GPs or practice nurses or babies during their baby checks. It will be an honest, non confrontational chat we promise. The evidence is clear, vaccinate your kids.
But we are happy to chat about why and discuss concerns

None of main childhood vaccine uptake targets reached in England - as MMR uptake hits 15-year low
The uptake target for all childhood vaccines is 95% - but one of the main pre-school boosters has been administered to just over 80% of five-year-olds.

Post Leng review will be interesting to see how changes in working patterns happen. Surgeries that are total triage might be better but defining minor ailments etc, setting scope, enforcing said scope e.g. rcgp, bma would have been more clear. Even NHS england’s diktat wasnt very clear for many q’s
