Given the latest revelations, I'm not sure we're making a big enough deal that Trump initially wanted Matt Gaetz for AG.

The Epstein case against Trump is as if everyone is looking at a 500 piece puzzle with 2 pieces missing and pretending they can't make out the picture for certain.

Can we just take a minute and acknowledge that our POTUS is right OUT IN THE OPEN lobbying Congressional members to vote against releasing the Epstein files?! Like... what the fuck else does anyone even need to know?

turns out the emails we should have been reading in 2016 were from the NYT

Stop me if you've heard this before:

If the NYT still had a public editor, that person would have official standing to ask, WTF???

They axed the public editor. So it's up to the rest of us to ask, unofficially, WTF???
To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?
“would you like photos of donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen?” -Jeffrey Epstein

No, no you see, you just have to you ask for the super secret “cash price” when negotiating the myriad of providers. Sen. Bill Cassidy said so! and Rep Ronny Jackson is a doctor!
Under the rules Republicans want people would be very unhappy having to negotiate their own health insurance, and they would be much unhappier when they find out that the insurance they bought doesn't cover anything and they can be kicked off whenever they get sick
Yeah, people will be so much happier when they negotiate their own insurance because folks definitely have enough information to navigate that process without getting fleeced. And we all famously love negotiating prices - that’s why everyone loves used car salespeople.

SNAP shouldn’t be ignored in discussing Senate Dems’ cave, but they should’ve at least let the issue be litigated through SCOTUS this week. Then they could’ve blamed SCOTUS and Trump when they stood down.
NEW: The First Circuit Court of Appeals has denied the Trump admin's efforts to stop the release of full funding for November's SNAP benefits payments as ordered by a lower court judge.

The Supreme Court's administrative stay will now expire 48 hours after the 1st Circuit's ruling.

Moderate dems in federal worker states and a not job in PA caved with no guarantees. Stop saying you saved mothers waiting in line for food. POTUS was breaking the law by not releasing emergency SNAP funds. You are all cowards and GOP will eat you for lunch tomorrow. Stop smiling Tim Kaine.

Let me be clear — there are contingency funds available to fully fund SNAP while we are in this Republican shutdown.

But what is Trump doing? He’s doing everything in his power to withhold these benefits, making Americans go hungry.

The Inflation Reduction Act, which funded focused on energy production, on-shored manufacturing and improved infrastructure, but republicans voted against, and then showed up for photo ops when a project broke ground, created jobs and improved the lives of constituents in their state/district.
This right here, this exact sentence, is THE problem in American political journalism.

The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.

BREAKING: Democrats just tried to pass a standalone bill to fund WIC & SNAP to make sure families don't go hungry during the Republican shutdown.

Republicans BLOCKED it. So Trump won't use emergency funds to keep SNAP running, and Republicans won't let any bills pass. Shameful.

The president had a MRI but won't say why.

He had bruises on his hands but wouldn't say why.

He just had an 'annual medical' even though he already had his annual medical.

He got shot in the ear but has never released the medical records relating to it.

How is any of this ok?

Democrats have held the line against Republicans’ funding plans because the GOP has no plan to stop Trump-led healthcare cuts, or to extend tax credits that keep healthcare costs down.

We must continue to remind Democrats that we’ve got their backs as they keep fighting for affordable healthcare. 👇
TELL YOUR DEMOCRATIC SENATORS TO KEEP HOLDING THE LINE IN THE FUNDING FIGHT
With historic healthcare cuts and cost increases looming, Republicans chose to force a Trump Shutdown rather than address the healthcare crisis and limit Trump’s lawless manipulation of federal funds....

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 85th day out of the last 97.

12 days of work in over 3 months.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Republican party is showing its true self...it's all about them. They'll say anything when they want your vote, once in office they brush you off like lint on their shoulder. When are people going to wake up and tell Massa Repug to get lost and vote for someone who puts the public interest first.
