RIP Tatsuya Nagamine. Gone too soon. He has worked on a lot of great projects, but my personal favorite has to be the Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie. It's such a visual spectacle and really one of those movie experiences, that I will never forget. Really sad news..

I think another problem is that this belief can also lead you to reverse the logic. "I don't like this thing, so the creator must be a bad person," or, "I like this thing, so the creator must be a good person," are both pretty dangerous beliefs.

Anyway, just to clarify, I'm just saying that you should be true to yourself. You don't need to lie to yourself about what you enjoyed, or put on a performative show of hating things you know you loved.

This does not mean you should shovel money into the pockets of bigots. That's obviously bad.
But knowing the artist is a bad person does not suddenly disrupt the timestream. What was once good does not magically become bad. You don't need to pretend you never enjoyed things, or performatively deny.

Bad people can make good art.
When a game that people liked turns out to have been made by someone shitty, it doesn't instantly become bad. You don't have to go full Sour Grapes on it. Two things can be true at once.
