A lot of big breaking news stories involve visuals, such as timelines of events, photos, memes, and screen shots. All of those images need alt text. All of them. Don't leave out people who use screen readers.

I've seen more coyotes wandering through my densely populated Los Angeles neighborhood in the last several years than I ever did growing up in the middle of a woodsy rural New England town. 🙃

PAs generally make minimum wage and have no union or organization to provide a safety net.
Certainly all of the assistants are unlikely to have enough saved up to cope with a sudden cancellation or pause, nor could they line up a rescue gig.

I know we keep focusing on Colbert and Kimmel as we should, but we also need to remember there are hundreds of people who work for these shows who also just lost their jobs because of this bullshit, and most of them are probably not millionaires.
