This is so moving.

Community organizers from @ndlon.bsky.social, @casaforall.bsky.social, and @tnimmigrant.bsky.social have posted a video of Kilmar Ábrego García reuniting with his family.

He shares a message of gratitude to God and everyone who supported him.

The American carceral system is simply not prepared for an entire generation of prisoners who’ve seen Shawshank Redemption on TBS 500 times.
Breaking News: Ten inmates at a New Orleans jail escaped through a hole in the wall, possibly with the help of jail workers. One escapee has been arrested so far.

I feel like I’m going insane. This is the biggest story of maybe our lifetime? And no one‘s talking about it? Elon Musk and DOGE logged into sensitive gov systems and left all the doors open so that Russian IP addresses could login to gov systems without being seen? Hello? youtu.be/TsqgXfrSksI

I can’t believe this is real! It’s like the worst caricature of how the right says Soros does politics.
In a video posted by Elon Musk’s PAC, a $1M check recipient linked voting to receiving the money:

“My name’s Ekaterina Deistler. …I did exactly what Elon Musk told everyone to do: sign the petition, refer friends and family, vote, and now I have a million dollars.”

One thing that is fairly clear at this point is that the entire point of whisking people out of the country with no due process in defiance of a judge's orders to put them into a foreign gulag *was so they could produce fascist content*.

This is fucked up.
Rumeysa Ozturk, a PhD student at Tufts University, was detained March 25 by Department of Homeland Security agents in masks and plainclothes.

“We should all be horrified at the way DHS spirited away Rumeysa in broad daylight,” Mahsa Khanbabai, Ozturk’s lawyer, said. wapo.st/3QPfoiA

every person involved in this needs to be in prison
“One young man sobbed when a guard pushed him to the floor. He said, ‘I’m not a gang member. I’m gay. I’m a barber.’ I believed him. *** He “began to whimper,” as his head was roughly shaved, “folding his hands in prayer as his hair fell.” He “asked for his mother & cried as he was slapped again.”

Tragic and heinous
Take a moment today to read about a few of the young children whom Trump and Musk killed by shutting down USAID. The blame for these deaths falls on them.

There will be hundreds of thousands more dead kids before their lethal crusade against foreign aid ends. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Marco Rubio is like having Tom Wambsgabs as Secretary of State, a man whose ambition is to be an empty suit, on board to take any stance, say anything, whatever the boss wants, and sponge up some of the pain that comes back, all for the trappings, the title, the plane rides, the suits, to be there.

I’m thinking about the parents of special needs kids that desperately rely on Medicaid to properly care for their kids. Without these funds to cover the exorbitant price of care, it would crush these families financially which is the very last thing they need.
NEW: My staff has confirmed reports that Medicaid portals are down in all 50 states following last night's federal funding freeze. This is a blatant attempt to rip away health care from millions of Americans overnight and will get people killed.

Ball don’t lie.
Matthew W. Huttle, who served time for his role in the Jan. 6 attack and was pardoned by Donald Trump, was shot and killed by a Jasper County sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop in Indiana following an altercation with the officer.

Police say Huttle was armed and resisted arrest.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.
