Sergio Busquets is old and slow. By next month he'll be retired. So how is he still so central to one of the best teams in MLS?

Wrote for The Guardian about trying to measure a famously invisible kind of greatness.
As his career ends in MLS, Sergio Busquets’ small decisions remain perfect
The Spaniard’s style of possession football is not easily defined by stats and data. We tried to do so anyway

My column on Canadiens defenceman Lane Hutson, who still enjoys having a sheet of ice to himself like when he was a kid. It's a reason why he's almost always the first player on ice for a #Habs practice: montrealgazette.com/sports/hocke...
Cowan: Canadiens' Lane Hutson is still like a boy playing game he loves
Habs defenceman revels in being first player on the ice for practices after winning Calder Trophy, something that dates back to his youth.

Now they're +73 and 5-5.

Given that Prime Minister Tusk has never vivisected a journalist from an American newspaper or invested money with the president's son-in-law, there is apparently no reason why the United States government would care about this

It should be easy for educated, rational citizens to hold these two thoughts in mind: drug traffickers are the bad guys but due process of law protects us all.

Being against blowing up alleged drug traffickers at sea on the president's word does NOT make one a supporter of drug traffickers.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

1) There were interviews. Fox didn't air them.
2) Due process isn't just for people we think are innocent. It's for everyone, even when we think they are guilty.
3) The US benefits from countries observing the traditional laws of the sea, and has every reason to set that example.
Cotton on Trump's boat strikes: "Use common sense. If any of these had been boats full of fisherman or refugees, CNN would've already been on the ground & interviewed all their families & told their stories. We can be confident all of these strikes have been against cartel-based drug traffickers."
