Cool study from @bikewaysto.bsky.social detailing a traffic count on Bloor Street taken on June 11 with a camera at 412 Bloor West. During the peak of the afternoon rush, bikes outnumbered cars.

I repeat: bikes outnumbered cars.

This is great
To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars.

Even if those cars are electric.

And then there’s all the parking.

OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money and pollution.

When I moved to Toronto in August, in my neighborhood, in meetings & social gatherings, I kept hearing about Ontario Place & the Ontario govt contract w a European company to build a spa/water park. It felt like something that mattered to people so I decided to look into it

Lunch time stroll around Toronto City Hall.
I'm embarrassed to admit I only recently learned about the green roof they have there; does anyone know if/when it'll be public accessible again? I got differing answers upon a Google search.

Ontario’s bike lane removals will make streets more dangerous. The provincial government knows it, says @lanrickbennett.bsky.social — and now, after an application for an injunction to stop the implementation of Bill 212 was rejected, it can proceed. spacing.ca/toronto/2025...

New illustration inspired by Toronto approving fourplexes citywide & earlier this month approving a pilot for sixplexes because contrary to what the last 15 yrs would have you believe there are indeed housing options between a house & a 60-storey tower.
