Wait… Never mind. It’s a lump of cullet glass, material left over from the glass manufacturing process. Still pretty and pretty neat though. A bud at Bismarck Antique Mall had a box of them and I picked out this cobalt-y one for myself.

It can make stunningly good espresso. I expected that it would be *okay* but that secretly I'd be experiencing buyers remorse. After one failed practice shot, I've pretty consistently made better coffee than in most cafes here — & I bought this thing used for a song. Zero regrets.
