John Howard pushed for the invasion of Iraq, which was one of the dominoes which created the conditions for ISIS and caused untold human misery we are still dealing with today. He refused to acknowledge racism was a main driver of the Cronulla riots.

Hilariously, the AFR is showing just how absurd is the scare campaign against the super tax changes.

They give an eg where someone's super goes from $2m to $3.18m in a year!

Yep a $1.18m increase.

How much extra tax?

$1,528!

OMG!! THAT'S OUTRAG... err... oh actually that's bugger all

I wish to place on the record that we had multiple Coaltion shadow ministers who cheerfully agreed to interviews and then mysteriously pulled out. We really wanted to interview Peter Dutton. It’s a shame he wouldn’t speak to us. Grateful to Senator Andrew Bragg.

Budget surplus is just the Government taking more money from you than they're actually spending on you.

Chief Political Analyst Amy Remeikis unpacked why we don't always want a surplus in the Budget at last night's Politics in the Pub!

It's #Budget day! Brace yourselves for scary headlines about debt and deficits.

FACT: Australia is a low-debt country. We have a lower government debt than most advanced economies in the world.

In the conversations that are starting about the slow-motion collapse of the insurance industry, I hope journalists don't lose sight of the core reason: massive increases in risk from #climatechange.
We're reaping the consequences of politicians failing to heed decades of warnings from scientists.

No CEO of any charity should be earning $795,442 pa. Charities should be working to remove the need for the 'charity' they dispense. If not, they are not doing charity, they are doing business in the poverty space

Disgraceful!

Moreton Bay City Council’s recent decision to ban homeless people from sleeping in vans or keeping pets on public property is both heartless and shameful. The policy, reportedly passed anonymously, will impose $8,000 fines on those who violate it

The fastest growing political party in Australia isn't a party at all.

Approximately 1/3 of voting Australians didn't vote for any of the major parties at the '22 election.

The rise of the community independents, candidates not beholden to any party, is changing our political scene for the better.
