RIght. The language preservation is awesome, but it's always aimed at Bible translations, so the thing they are preserving is made into a vehicle for destroying culture.

Not to be confused with the Linguistic Institute sponsored every summer by the Linguistic Society of America, which is a normal secular academic institution. SIL does some valuable stuff but has always been about the missionary work. They may be creepier now than they were in my day.

WOW. Incredible. This is the case in which DHS claimed that ICE officers had been attacked with a shovel and fired back in self-defense. Evidence since suggests an ICE officer fired through a closed door and struck someone on the other side.

Will DHS retract the prior claims?

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

This means he's ordered Miller and co. to write an order up for him, probably not for the first time. Not that anybody has any idea how it's to be done.
Trump’s follow up post says he’s going to issue an executive order on voter ID.

“If we can't get it through Congress, there are Legal reasons why this SCAM is not permitted. I will be presenting them shortly, in the form of an Executive Order.”

The Department of Homeland Security pushed out the revamped tool while it was still adding data. That led to widespread misidentification, particularly for citizens born outside the U.S.

Trump, Vance, Miller, & Noem have created a culture of impunity that has led to rampant abuse and killings.

Not one more dime for this lawlessness.
