There is no peace without justice.
Old Democratic blogger at yastreblyansky.blogspot.com and yastreblyansky.substack.com. He/him. Is this where the party is?
The consultant brains who picked him out did it because he looked and sounded like their idea of a (white male) working class candidate. What Trump would call central casting. But he's a prep school boy backed by family wealth that's allowed him to make some adventurous life choices.
He’s also a business owner, and we know how those politics usually shake out.

It wouldn't hurt to bow when you're in the administrator's presence. And wear sackcloth.
Feds now personalist and extortionate all the way down: FDA suggests “Moderna might have more luck with a second, narrower request for approval if the company showed some ‘humility’ when it made the submission.”
Today as always, @citizencohn.bsky.social is a must read. Here he is on the massive danger to public health of the latest anti-vax actions by Trump’s and RFK’s FDA.

Signs you might be a far right authoritarian party (#3316):
This message from the US State Department about "not wanting allies to be shackled by guilt and shame" is a pretty direct call-out to the German far-right argument that Germany has spent too long feeling guilty about the Holocaust, and needs to move on and stop doing remembrance.

Trump loves the cowgirl photos. This is the best job he can get Lewandowski without a Senate vote. He doesn't care even slightly about the "metrics" Moskowitz mentions. Any other questions?
Moskowitz: By the president’s own metrics, what accomplishments does Noem have?

• She’s holding up 200 miles of border wall.
• She’s deported fewer people than Obama.
• She’s not helping any of these red-state governors with their disasters.

Why hasn’t he fired her?

Just the absolute bottom of the barrel of humanity. So help me god if we root these guys out of power no Democrat ever tell me it is time to move on or unite.

I don't want unity. I want fucking justice. I want people to go to jail for a long time to think on what they did and serve as an example
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

very important correction here
I made an important error in the prior version of this article, which I’ll explain in a thread. It has a new headline and some additions, and I’ve deleted the old skeet to limit the spread of bad info. #akleg

I realize media doesn’t think it’s a big deal that Trump, Vance & Hegseth continue to give partisan political speeches to troops, evidenced by the fact that they are never asked about it nor are members of Congress, but it is one of the most dangerous things happening right now.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Known as ‘Hounds and Jackals’ or ‘Game of 58 holes’, its original name is unknown. It’s suggested it was played in a similar way to ‘Snakes and Ladders’.
