It's been almost three years, but CrystalCon, the accessibility conference created from spite, is back. This January, I'm giving you six sessions of content over two days, all made by me. Given the current state of tech and digital accessibility, most sessions will focus on artificial intelligence.

If you want to be sure something you write is private, get a pencil and put it on paper.

Then, if you want to be sure it stays private, set fire to the paper.

In the latest chapter of me being a sucker for rock covers of pop songs, my wife introduced me to I Prevail's cover of Blank Space. You're welcome.

Some abled parents of disabled people are the most violent ableists. They use their children as tools to demonstrate their heroism in shouldering the burden of taking care of a disabled person, think they’re incapable of ableism, and say the experience of a caretaker is the same as being disabled.

Here we go again with the standing seat that'll never see an airplane interior... #PaxEx
I’d like to say fuck you preemptively to any airline that attempts this strategy of torture. It’s miserable enough already.

Did a tequila tasting as part of the cruise expedition we went on today. I'm not a big drinker, but I now have a serious appreciation of good tequila.

My best advice for becoming a digital accessibility specialist is to make it your job, regardless of your title.

Making a presentation? Putting together a design? Building something in code?

In anything you do, be curious about what it takes to make it more accessible

Love that just now Apple Music went from playing a song by The Warning to Green Day's Warning.

Only in sports is sucking at your job not grounds for being fired for cause.
Brian Kelly has filed a lawsuit against LSU, asking a Louisiana court to confirm the school fired him without cause and that he is owed the full remaining value of his contract.

His full buyout is about $53 million.

Wow, who could have foreseen that trading a few millimeters of phone thickness for a lesser camera and shorter battery life and higher cost wasn't a deal many consumers would make?

Well, the end to the shutdown's going about how I expected. Lots of hemming and hawing by the politicians while federal employees and others suffer for their grandstanding. This is why I think all politics are bullshit.

My brother taught a kid that missed a big kick in a state championship game a few years ago, wonder if it was this kid.
John missed an extra point in his state championship game in high school. He won $250,000 by making a kick on College GameDay with Pat McAfee at Texas Tech.

The Trump Flight Cancelations will continue until morale improves
"Delta say it will cancel 170 flights, United says less than 200 each day Fri-Sun.
Expectation now is that airlines will slash flying by 4% all weekend and will gradually step up the cuts to 10% likely next week."

i guess we will never know if they were ICE or not
“Three men in black vests entered a NY restaurant claiming to be ICE agents. Inside, they tied a worker’s hands and pulled a garbage bag over the person’s head. Another, believing the burglars’ story, surrendered themselves, only to be kicked to the ground and tied up as the intruders robbed an ATM”
