Those make the rounds every few years but will never in a million years actually make it on an airplane. The folks I know who cover the industry always just roll their eyes when this comes up again...

Same. Unless something changes, mine wrapped in September with a work trip to PIT. But I did get a new aircraft type and three new airports this year, so that's a win.

I'm amazed *anything* there is even halfway decent for that purpose how far out in the boonies DEN is.

I flew PIT-DFW for work a couple months back. Day I booked it it was like $600 to upgrade. Within a week that segment dropped to like $125.

It's wild how much those upgrade offers bounce around from day to day. I almost always just buy economy on them and keep an eye on things until it almost inevitably hits a number I like.
