booting into windows for 20 minutes to downgrade the controller's firmware (still an upgrade from where it was at) just to have it tell me it's "getting windows ready" for like 30 minutes. horrendous, what we have done to the computer, personal or otherwise

weird stuck/dropped input thing that was going on yesterday actually got worse and seemed to be on the os side because it ended up not just happening in rpcs3, in native linux games as well. hopefully a restart and an update of both the computer and the controller firmware fixes it

regression popped up in rpcs3 (i seem to misspell/misspeak it a lot btw) so now every track has an on track visualizer with textures and geometry flickering like crazy. thank good it always keeps an appimage of the last version around
switching to hd fury on rcps3 from omega collection just so i can use custom soundtracks with the on-track visualizers in zone mode

in general i kinda like og wipeout more, with the seamless gaining of speed as you go over boost pads but the omega games have a very distinct handling character that no other antigrav raving games even come close to. every single corner and chicane is a major skill check in both

the 2 main strains of wipeout (psx trilogy and psp/hd fury/2048) have honestly my fav third person cameras in racing games. the og camera that centers on the track rather than the craft is especially great but the later camera has me doing the "sitcom character playing video game" body movement irl
