NEW YEARS DAY

I heard a bird sing clear
This year the summer will come true. This year. This year.

This year, this year, as all these flowers foretell,
We shall escape the circle and undo the spell.

UPDATE: This fic is now almost 50,000 words and still nowhere near done. Heh. Well, I am at least enjoying myself.
If, instead of working on my next novel, I seem to instead be writing a novel-length WangXian fic, is that unprofessional and unbecoming of a 50-year-old seasoned author? Or is it merely the natural, fluff-and-comfort-seeking response to the way things are, globally, lately?

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Trump, a silver spoon nepo baby that received a “small loan of a million dollars” from his dad to start his business, has publicly expressed wonder at the word “groceries” for more than a year now.

“Who uses the word?” Trump told Meet the Press with a straight face.

Husband and I just watched Wake Up Dead Man, and we both agree it's our favorite Knives Out yet. SO GOOD. So rich.

This ex-Catholic and her never-was-religious spouse both found tons to love in it.
