This decision puts even more pressure on plaintiffs and district courts outside the 5th Circuit. Unless the habeas is filed before a person is transferred to the 5th Circuit, a person may remain locked in appalling conditions, never even allowed to ask for bond.

The GOP can’t win a straight up contest based on policy proposals and a platform that the people who vote for, so they try to go for those that will vote for GOP not matter what. It’s shameful and shameless that they play this game. Un-American and fascist even.
In the midpoint of the decade, it is crazy that my law firm is currently involved in eight redistricting cases. Even worse, as of today, I expect that will grow to twelve in the next month or so.
