Black music protesting white political terror in registers they never hear; reminiscent of ancestral spirituals embedded with instructions for runaways

Don't think there is a better illustration of AI-in-everything-whether-we-want-it-or-not than an AI bro buying an AI toy for his child who played with it for a bit and then seemed singularly unimpressed with the AI and turned it off.
He keeps turning it back on, and she keeps turning it off.

Fully agree. AI cannot do your job, but it pretends good enough that your boss thinks it can. And then the smaller team will end up having to deal with people even more irate with the AI and there will be fewer of them because the boss fired people he didn't think he needed with AI. Vicious circle.
Yeah, the thing is, it’s going to lead to twice the work, because both times this has happened, the AI answering service was not able to understand what I needed.

So they’re going to have to call me back to figure out what it is that I wanted in the first place. It is not saving any time or money.
Not from you, I am sure, but the front facing staff take so much abuse from the public that the turnover rate is high and it's hard to find people. But AI only ever convinces bosses it can do the job enough so it can fire these folks. This has management written all over it.

Guess what? I got a job teaching Creative Nonfiction!! For only one class for one semester, but still!! I'm so excited in a way that I wouldn't let myself be until now, because I was so sure my lack of MFA would prevent me from being hired. The ways trauma keeps us from expecting good things

Alberta is dealing with the highest rising rents in Canada. Alberta has a healthcare crisis, a massive teacher shortage. It is a province whose governance is falling apart.

Albertans have so many other problems to deal with first and foremost. Trans people existin' ain't one of them.

For reference, the three previous times the Alberta legislature has considered the notwithstanding clause is to:

→ restrict compensation for sterilization victims (1998);
→ allow its Human Rights Code to *not* protect on the basis of sexual orientation (1998);
→ define marriage as str8 (2000).
