Related: was not expecting Grand Mother Silk to be one of the biggest pushovers in the game. Couldn’t hold a candle to that second Savage Beastfly battle. (First Sinner remains the best.)

My best year ever as a writer has still amounted to under 10k. My income comes 99% from editing (novels, dissertations, mags occasionally, and marketing material), copywriting, and teaching college part-time.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.

Torn between wanting to post more about writing—and maybe actually doing some—or devolving into a puddle of depression. Turns out starting a new medication with that as a side effect ain't great when already suffering from chronic depression and watching a family member slowly die from dementia.
