I mean who isn't avoiding America right now
Was there a memo to all Atlantic tropical cyclones this year or something where they were all told to avoid the US

also, in keeping with Vance’s view of american identity, only white people are fully American with the right to critique or dissent. nonwhites must show proper gratitude (supporting Trump or marrying JD Vance) before they can speak critically of the country (in approved ways, of course)
Weaponized gratitude is a key tool in the abuser's toolkit. The goal is to convince the victim that they owe the abuser so much, they should feel guilty for wanting to complain.

@NewYorker.com fact-checker story evoked nostalgia for NatGeo in past era. “At an exhausting stalemate..writer might say,”I think it’s O.K.,” i.e. “I know it’s not exactly correct, but you’re being a prig.” A checker might respond, “It won’t keep me up at night,” i.e. “it’s your name on the piece.”

Love to see FBI agents with accounting degrees walking the streets of DC bullying homeless people instead of doing their jobs because a DOGE cybercriminal named "Big Balls" got beat up by a 15 year old.
FBI agents are not trained to patrol streets. And every agent that is assigned to do that is NOT investigating:

*foreign spies stealing gov’t and trade secrets
*foreign and domestic terrorist threats
*crimes like fraud, corruption, trafficking, and violent crimes (among others)

Do you feel safer?

This is absurd and a pure dictatorial power grab. There is no state of emergency in DC. We survived the damn 90s without this type of power grab, it certainly doesn't justify one now.

Under the law, even if this is not judicially reviewable, he can only do it for 30 days.
BREAKING

President Trump announces that he is invoking section 740 of the Home Rule Act.

Section 740 gives the President of the United States the authority to commandeer the DC Police Department in “conditions of an emergency nature”

Trump also confirms he is deploying the National Guard to DC.

5] Neither of Marco Rubio's parents were U.S. citizens at the time of Rubio's birth, but they applied for U.S. citizenship and were naturalized in 1975.
So Maybe we should deport Rubio???
