Inverse's Gaming section is being shut down as the company "divests" from gaming content. I'm out of a job along with my wonderful co-writers. I've put my heart and soul into this job for four years. Gonna need to take time to process, but I'm now completely open for work - and boy do I need it.

My explanation for PvP being much more common in Arc Raiders trios than solos is very simple. Joy shared is joy doubled; worry shared is worry halved. Killing players becomes twice as fun, and fighting people becomes half as scary.

I had an inkling after trying Marathon, and after 150 hours of Arc Raiders I've concluded that extraction shooters are ultimately just big bonfires. Point of the game is to go get more wood. Sometimes you stop to expand the firepit, but it's all about the burn.
