This is sickening to see. I look at those lines plummeting, and I see smart, dedicated people who were doing good work and making our country and our world better.
This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

This is so grim. Science isn’t just something nerds do, but the foundation of the modern world. What the Trump regime has done to US science will harm Americans for generations.

It is depressing to see Democrats' communications be 80% "when is Donald Trump going to work with us on affordability?", 15% "no more funding for ICE... until they commit to de-escalation training," and 5% truth bomb from Chris Murphy or one of a handful of others.
Looking at shit like this and arguing that ICE just needs training is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard from the Democrats

This is, in my opinion, not only the correct moral/ethical/legal position but also the correct political framing. Everyone can see the agency is out of control; everyone can see that it is constantly violating human rights. "Scrap it and start over" is the moderate position.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

Whoo-hoo!
New VA governor Spanberger announced the state will be rejoining the RGGI, a multi-state effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Youngkin, of course, being a GOP toady, hated it and withdrew. Now we're back in. Look up RGGI on Wikipedia. It's good.

We are watching one of the wildest things a nation-state has ever done: A superpower is committing suicide because the GOP Congress is too cowardly to stand up to the Mad King.

This is one of the wildest moments in all of geopolitics ever.

What a fuckin embarrassment to the country this baby is. Smashing up the world because he didn't get a shiny toy.
I wonder, if the decades of poor diet and exercise took their inevitable toll today, would Vance keep this Greenland idiocy going because he felt he had to, to keep MAGA support?
In case there were any doubts, that utterly bonkers message Trump sent to the Norwegian prime minister? It’s entirely real.

He effectively argued, in writing, that his crusade for Greenland is partly the result of the Nobel committee hurting his feelings. #madking www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...
Trump connects his Greenland crusade to his failure to win a Nobel Peace Prize
“I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace,” the president said in a truly bizarre text message to Norway's prime minister.

Another inscrutable aphorism for @owillis.bsky.social
When extremists attack democratic norms, markets react, allies worry, and families feel the impact. Chaos isn’t free: working people always pay the price.

Trump says he'll impose a 10% tariff (rising to 25% in June) on Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and Finland, because they've sent people to Greenland, until the US can buy Greenland.

Glad to see this kind of decisive action. Spanberger always struck me as someone who pursues bipartisanship almost as a goal unto itself, so I'm happy to see her not worrying about that. Hope she keeps it up!
Wow

Invoking the Insurrection Act wouldn't be an unfortunate development for him. It would be an intended one.
