One girl said “it doesn’t matter if you ban a book because everyone can find that information online” and then I blew their minds by talking about how your search history can be monitored and sold to the government without your permission, but your library borrowing history requires a warrant.

Friends, take it from someone who lives in Georgia: MJT hasn't seen the light about anything. She's been angling for either Senate or governor and is cleaning up her act to appeal to more voters than the MAGA/Qanon district she's been pandering to. Trump didn't endorse her for Senate, thus the feud.

Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.

‘Father’ and ‘dad’ are synonyms.

‘Figure’ and ‘bod’ are synonyms.

But, a ‘father figure’ and a ‘dad bod’ aren’t exactly the same thing…

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

It's Veterans Day, so I feel like spinning a #GranddadYarn. I'm gonna tell what is known in the family as the Korea Story, though it does not take place in Korea and involves it only tangentially.

It is, however, a timely story about good leadership, which I think we could all use right now.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

Authors, Beware! There's a firm called "ClaimsHero" doing aggressive social media outreach claiming to
"help" you file to get $ in the Anthropic class action. In fact, it's a bait-and-switch, they are luring authors to sign up with them, then OPTING THEM OUT of the class action so they'll get zilch.

the pastor at my church gave a sermon on this passage that I thought was really good today, and I learned something I didn't know about the etymology of "Lazarus" and how that might inform the reading of this parable.

Keep in mind that the term “supermoon” comes from astrology, not astronomy. If that doesn’t sit well with you, you can use the astronomical term: “perigee syzygy.”

Which actually sounds cooler, come to think of it.

Remember that while food banks welcome donations of food, they prefer $$$$$$$. They have deals with grocery stores and suppliers. You can only buy one dollar's worth of food for one dollar, but they can buy several dollars' worth. So don't, like, buy food to donate it, just give 'em the dough.

I had a very strange interaction today.

Somebody put up a request on Freecycle (a localized email list that helps people get rid of stuff they don't need anymore) for baking pans for her granddaughter, who wanted to learn baking.

I offered some tiny cupcake pans I wasn't using.
