Small promoter, big potential🧬 We show that the ultra-compact Calm1 promoter efficiently targets human neurons in brain organoids and is a promising alternative to hSyn for AAV gene delivery.

Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to this work!

This is good news because it is an environmentally friendly way to protect potatoes without lots of pesticides that kill every insect in the field, and therefore it helps protect wild birds.

Mammalian apex predators like tigers with solitary lifestyle are more prone to cancer death. Sharks, non-mammalian apex predators, are thought to have low rate of cancer (they have remarkable genome stability and slow rate of evolution). Why are they so different? 🐅🦈🤔

Hey #Drosophila evolution people, quick phylogeny question! Is this simplified tree reasonable? I integrated multiple papers & added some polytomies, so that there is nothing too speculative in there. Does it look right to you? 🪰 It's just for a presentation 😉

Branching morphogenesis is fundamental to animal development, shaping complex organs like lungs, kidneys, and vascular networks. Gills are another highly branched organ. Yet, the developmental processes behind gill formation in zebrafish remain poorly understood.
