As proud as we should all be about the #scotland win against England yesterday, in the long run the real history was made by Scottish ref Hollie Davidson, who became the first woman to officiate a #sixnations game. And was *superb*.

The thing about Brewdog is that wankers, by definition, will drink anything anywhere, so it's not sustainable to make them your core demographic. This also applies to everything else.

I mean, after losing to Italy it was so likely we’d win that today. But what a game from #scotland. Townsend still need at least three wins though.

England’s problem remains that George Ford will never dig a team out of a hole, unless it’s an endless succession of drop goals.

From a strategic point of view, it makes sense to occasionally float your ‘LLMs might be conscious’ theory just in you have to appear in a court one day and convince a government or judge that you can’t ’switch off life support’.

“Please Mr Judge, my jacquard loom, he is a nice boy but very sick”
I'm pretty sure I know. They aren't. We're not going to really be able to make a lot of progress in dealing with the implications of this tech unless and until we get rid of all this "woo-woo" talk about LLMs. Anthropic pushing this line is PR, unserious.

Keep being sent this completely nonsensical hogslop. It has multiple egregious lies, which is appropriate because he’s a fraud. Back in September 2024 he falsified a bunch of benchmarks to hype up his open source model. Article is total dogshit. I should annotate it venturebeat.com/ai/reflectio...

Good example of far-right propaganda in action here. Also, the media outlet (Sky News) provides the facts in the next paragraph as a corrective to the lies, but carefully does not point out that lying has occurred.

What is the reset I would want from Starmer (apart from, obviously, just him falling in line with me on everything) - junking some of the policies designed to pander to the delusions of the far right. If the country is to succeed in the 21st Century, we have to stop going along with this stuff.

Like 75% of the US Olympic curlers are from Minnesota. A lot of them curl out of two clubs in Saint Paul, one club is in Frogtown, a neighborhood that has been very heavily targeted by ICE. These curlers are good neighbors.
US Olympic Curling Team member speaks out against ICE:

"I'm proud to represent Team USA. But we'd be remiss if we didn't mention what's going on in Minnesota and what a tough time it's been. What's happening is wrong. There's no shades of gray."

The vast majority of #GenAI is not FOR* anything. At best, Sora is a toy from a Christmas cracker that mildly amused for a moment or two.

*oh, apart from criming. It’s definitely for that.
Sora 2 apparently cost something like $5 billion to run every year and so far made OpenAI around $1.4 million.

Ah, the famous 37th amendment of ‘you gotta be nice to me’. Good work on that constitution, America.
House Oversight hearing on ICE opens with the rules:

"It is also a clear violation of the rules of the House to make statements that might personally be offensive to the President or the Vice President of the United States."

Ouch. Withering shite, maybe?

Bradshaw in the Guardian really isn’t impressed either.

Only positive reviews I’ve seen are… American? Which speaks volumes, I guess.

Thing is, I don't know if these kind of bans are a good thing, a good thing badly implemented, or a bad thing. And I am fine with not knowing. I've heard good arguments for all three of those positions.

Which is to say, it's fine not to have an opinion on something because you just don't know.
These bans are short-sighted and inhumane and pushed by people who do not understand the complexity of social media
