good morning. my dream was largely unparsable nonsense involving attending a high school graduation that was moving too fast.

the track this morning is "The Rhythm Method" from Rush's live album, A Show of Hands. Yup - starting today with a Neil Peart drum solo.
a man is playing drums in a large room
Alt: Rush's late drummer, Neil Peart, engaging in an epic drum solo on a kit that completely surrounds him.

My all-time favorite restaurant name is this Mexican restaurant in Nashville that forgot what a chile relleno is.

I do wonder if there are any of the old community resources available for the PlayStation RPG Maker. I remember there being a good handful of games made for that and shared online via DexDrive and emulator saves, but I've long since forgotten what website they had come from.

Rpgmaker.net coming back online is very significant, as a whole generation of 2000s and 2010s indie games was contextless and nearly lost without it.

It's wonderful to see it back in action. Hopefully to stay!

youtu.be/yYcxUhZaeM0 - this track carries all the energy of a PS2-era Yakuza battle theme.

It plays in the _replay menu_. You're likely going to be hearing it for 5 seconds.

Track of the evening: The lead-off track on The Fixx's 1982 "Shuttered Room"; I confess I have never made any effort to parse the lyrics, but the urgent energy of it makes it weirdly motivating.

It’s nice to be told by someone they are proud of you. Sometimes it doesn’t happen enough.

But I’m proud of you! And so is Poppy!

Keeping doing your best! And keep fighting the good fight!

Quoting myself to break this out into a thread, because I remembered (once again) my favorite part of Fire Emblem Awakening - StreetPass armies. While you can't name or customize anyone but The Tactician, you *can* name people's weapons at the Forge (with limits), and set custom greeting messages.
The ultimate form of self-expression in games like that is what you named your party members. I love loading up saves from used copies of RPGs just to see that stuff.

"Your boos mean nothing, I've seen what makes you cheer" is an great quote and it's a shame that it came from Rick and Morty.

making up a guy: a guy that has numerous OCs that they can't draw, so they instead create them with video games - except their tool of choice is the Super Mario 64 title screen.

their thumbstick accuracy is disconcertingly good. you aren't quite sure how this mario looks so much like Tom Hanks.
