'The Sopranos: Road to Respect' released on this day in 2006.

A PS2 tie-in to HBO's hit show. Pits players in the role of "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero's previously-unseen son, as he works his way up the ladder of the New Jersey mafia. Weighed down by boring brawling and shockingly low production value.

The latest installment in our "Bad Game Chance Time" series is up now on YouTube! Tune in for rough-housing robots, brawling bikers, meddling kids, and X-Perts in their field. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNKx...

'WCW Backstage Assault' released on this day in 2000.

From the dying days of WCW comes their last and worst video game tie-in; which stripped wrestling of all its ring-centric mechanics, and re-centered the action entirely around half-baked backstage brawling.

'Tag Team Match: MUSCLE' released on this day in 1985.

A wrestling game largely beloved in its native Japan as a tribute to one of their most iconic media franchises, and largely beloathed in America as a cheap cash-in on a fad toy line. All things are a matter of perspective.

The 'GoldenEye: Rogue Agent' defender has logged on, lodged their litany of complaints, completely failed to parse our jokes, and disappeared into the night after repeatedly calling us "noobs" -- all in the year of our lord 2025. YouTube dot com rules lol

'Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly' released on this day in 2002.

At the peak of Spyro's popularity, his ascent was cut suddenly short with his inaugural sixth-gen appearance -- placed in the hands of inexperienced new developers, who could only produce a poor man's imitation.

The fourth and final episode of our 'Silent Hill: Homecoming' playthrough is up now on YouTube! Watch as our panel is confounded by the game's final gauntlet of twists, tortured logic, and terrible endings; followed by nearly a full hour (!) of our "final thoughts." www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpA4...

'Drake of the 99 Dragons' released on this day in 2003.

Majesco's attempt to launch a cross-media franchise off the back of an Xbox / PC third-person shooter didn't exactly go according to plan. Turn dreams into nightmares with guns akimbo.

This month on the "Bad Game Club" over on our Discord server (discord.gg/bghof): Summer has come to pass, and Spookaween is over. Time to bring on the November rain, and November's game -- 'Milon's Secret Castle!' Are you a bad enough gamer to shoot bubbles at random spots and uncover hidden items?

'Popeye' for Switch released on this day in 2021.

A 3D reimagining of Nintendo's 1982 Popeye arcade game, by way of shovelware kingpins Sabec Ltd. Ridiculed on release for its simplistic gameplay, low production value, and the curious nature of its licensing.

Can confirm that this conversion comes Megumi-approved, and demonstrates a proper labor of love on the part of Plutiedev. As the download page indicates there's still a bit of work left to be done on it, but what's here currently is very much playable and fascinating to experience.

'Captain Novolin' released on this day in 1992.

The self-proclaimed "world's first diabetic superhero" does battle against an army of alien junk food, but quickly discovers that his poor control / inability to self-regulate makes him his own worst enemy. Check you feet!
November 2, 2025 at 6:54 PM
'Way of the Warrior' released on this day in 1994.

A particularly dire entry into the pantheon of digitzed fighters, by way of a still-fledgling Naughty Dog. On the plus side: It does feature a killer soundtrack by White Zombie, and introduced the world to "Shaky Jake."
November 1, 2025 at 11:01 PM
'The Quiet Man' released on this day in 2018.

A narrative-driven 3D beat 'em up starring a deaf protagonist, whose missing hearing is subsequently transferred onto players. Unfortunately, combat is an utter chore, and its storytelling devices are muddled / nonsensical.

'The Slaughtering Grounds' released on this day in 2014.

The most notorious release by maligned Steam developers / asset flippers Digital Homicide. Catapulted into infamy by James Stephanie Sterling, who later endured a frivolous lawsuit filed by the studio's owners.

'Highlander: The Last of the MacLeods' released on this day in 1995.

An action-adventure adaptation of the animated Highlander series, released on the ill-fated Atari Jaguar CD. Contains clunky controls, poorly plotted progression, and deeply frustrating combat encounters.

'Segata Sanshirō Shinken Yūgi' released on this day in 1998.

When it came time to create a game around the Saturn's mascot, there was only one choice for its developer in Sega's mind: Ecole Software -- the same studio behind the platform's single-most infamous title, 'Death Crimson.'

Great primer here on all the *extremely weird shit* we’ve seen these last couple of days linking Trump, ICE and the Master Chief.

Vital to have people like @alyssamerc.bsky.social on this beat, as miserably bleak as it is.
