Crime isn't random. Most off the time, it happens when someone has been unable to meet their basic needs through other means. This is bigger than just police brutality; it's about how the prison industrial complex, the drug war, immigration law and the web of policy, law and culture that forms our criminal justice system has destroyed millions o lives, and torn apart families. Someone's screenshot of a two-post twitter thread, from user blue (@bluewmist): the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much. you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

I thought it might help to make a tutorial of how I setup my Bsky. Minus the image moderation, here are a few other ways to customize your BlueSky. (1/2) #art #bskyart
Tips for Bluesky. +bridge +populate +setup feeds +communicate +moderate. Chibi version of myself in the corner. Where to start: If you just setup a new account, it's going to feel a bit quiet. Here's some pointers to make it feel like home. "Be a Person." +Add a profile pic, add a banner, introduce yourself. (This helps others know you aren't a bot/scammer.) Do not use generative images for pfp/banner. This community is heavily artists and labels will tag your account and show you don't support artist rights. (in general... don't use unethical stolen data. Ironically or not.) Populate. Time to follow and fill your sky with people you enjoy! Starter Packs: Great way to find people with similar interest. You don't need to follow everyone on the list if you want to vet individually. Skybridge: If you still have the bird app you can make it work for you. Use this chrome/firefox extension to keep your network. Image example of skybridge from web store. Color indicators will show if they are available. Chibi self being excited in corner!

My all-purpose AI reform is banning computers from pretending they are human. Having names, saying "I," pretending to have feelings, representing what they emit as "advice," etc. That's where much of the mischief starts.

Post from "The Rundown" July 18 at 5:30 PM · DuckDuckGo has introduced a new feature allowing users to filter out AI-generated images from search results, addressing growing concerns over synthetic content overwhelming authentic visuals online. The filter can be activated through a dropdown in the Images tab, search settings, or by using a dedicated AI-free domain: noai.duckduckgo.com. The system relies on curated blocklists, including uBlockOrigin’s Huge AI Blocklist, to detect and suppress AI-generated imagery. While not perfect, it significantly reduces synthetic content visibility.
