I’ve seen the new Housing Minister and others say this week that house price trends in Canada are basically the same as in other G7 countries. That simply isn’t true, as Hanif Bayat showed in a recent Globe piece.

We really do have a made-in-Canada problem.

What an interesting tool!
Votewell.ca is a site that may help you decide whether you need to switch your vote to give the non-CPC side a better chance. Eg, Niagara West. Right now it looks like a vote split between the Liberals and NDP will give the CPC a much better chance. If the NDP votes switch, it's tight.

The Horniman Natural History Gallery features this stunning walrus.

It was transported to England, purchased in 1886. There, the taxidermists, having never seen one in the wild, stuffed it until the wrinkles smoothed out.

This is a fully inflated walrus, my friends.
MAXIMUM WALRUS.

Hey All: Google is pulling the "automatically on for anyone over 18" bullshit with Gemini that the Dropbox did for its AI, but I can't afford to ditch Google Drive/Docs/Workspace.

If you have a personal Google Account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off...

The jokes are a coping mechanism. Last year was noticeably hotter than it had any right to be.
NEW: 2024 has just been confirmed as the warmest year on record, and the first to breach the 1.5C threshold.

We used a ridgeline (Joy Division inspired) chart to visualise daily temperature anomalies since 1940.

2024 clearly stands out with 100% of its days above 1.3C and 75% above 1.5C.

Oooh this is a good read.

"The idea that the transmasculine person is a failed feminist is deeply embedded in particular strains of feminist theory."
If I kept this in drafts until next week, I would just keep adding things until it grew to the size of the earth, so here it is: "Social constructs" and cis feminism's enduring failure to adequately reckon with transmasculinity: jude-doyle.ghost.io/terfs-trans-...
