I don’t know that Seattle understands how lucky we are to have the urban design and land-use policy thinktank that is Mike Eliason, and also to have him on the Social Housing Developer
i am cleaning up files and ran across my public comment on the comprehensive plan EIS scoping report (from 2022!), and man...

i cannot express what a massively wasted opportunity and exercise harrell's comp plan update has been.

SDOT just announced they'll be completing the final block of the Beach Drive SW Healthy Street on Alki Point, finally connecting the multiuse path to 63rd Ave SW. This block was not included in the original project, installed in 2024.

Work will start before the end of the year.

This is your moment to find a group of folks to join up with; whether it’s @westseaurbanism.bsky.social or @seattledsa.bsky.social or @seattletru.bsky.social or @workingfamilies.org or @sngreenways.bsky.social or @laresistencianw.bsky.social one of the MANY other advocacy groups in our region
But that only happens if advocates stay organized and keep up the pressure, if we keep pushing for the things that will make our communities, neighborhoods, cities and region more pleasant, affordable, safer and all around better.

SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

There's still a lot of curable ballots from Seattle (about 1,800). Most are unsigned or signature mismatches, and most skew younger.

Yoooo #Seattle! Help feed our neighbors. With SNAP funding held up indefinitely and in the midst of massive inflation, tariffs, unemployment, and more... food banks are facing a crisis of need. Food banks can buy food at a ~3:1 rate compared to what you can buy, so cash is best.

Please share!

After many hours of studying and poking at maps of the streets and bike paths all around West Seattle, I think I am coming to the conclusion that we should really build a first-class bike route through the West Duwamish Greenbelt connecting the 21st Ave SW NG to W Marginal Way SW / Duwamish Trail.

URGENT BOLLARD ALERT.

SDOT is going to the Pike Place Market Historical Commission next Wednesday to get initial guidance on the "physical protective barriers" planned ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

The board is getting its temperature taken on a "hybrid approach" of bollards and vehicle barricades.
