I retired from NOAA/NWS/NCEP/EMC in 2020. But I am wearing my old NWSEO shirt today in solidarity with nine excellent colleagues from the Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) who were arbitrarily let go yesterday with almost no notice. The community is behind you so please stay strong!

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.
The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.
The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

The US govt. has taken ownership positions in major US companies like Intel (and soon TikTok).
Mamdani wants to open a city-run grocery store to sell cheap groceries.

Canceling Jimmy Kimmel show is not about Charlie Kirk, just like going after universities was not about antisemitism and occupying DC was not about fighting crime.
