WeARGames is a small team making Unfiction and TTRPGs. We've been at it since 2018, and we're getting better all the time. We're an all-queer staff, most of whom are also disabled.

Hi, hello, nice to see you!

We've been in hibernation for quite a long time now. Slowly but surely, we're working on resurrecting this thing. Bluesky is hopefully a step in the right direction!

Happy to have found a thriving #Unfiction community on here, and looking forward to joining in again.

With the news of David Lynch's passing, here's a passage from the interview book Lynch on Lynch where Lynch credits the remarkable Blue Velvet scene where Dean Stockwell lip-synchs Roy Orbison into a work light to a weeping Dennis Hopper entirely to trusting the actors and random chance.

Actual pro tip: the best way to break into any creative profession is by helping to support and advance other creators. Your peers are not your adversaries. They are your support group.

tfw you calculate 1000 years of global population flux (based roughly on real-world data) after your fictional apocalypse to have internal consistency in your worldbuilding :)

also tfw you painstakingly translate a real city map into what it might be like 750 years after an apocalypse

Aversion to feedback is so fascinating to me.

You mean to tell me you don't want to improve? You don't want to know what could've done better? You don't want to know where and how a "win" can be a bigger win? You just...want to remain stagnant?

Beloved: why? (This is rhetorical)

After being sick all week, I'm trying to get at least a little work done today. I just found an awesome new bg noise to work to—

I use the noise generators on here TONS. My partner stays up late gaming w/ hys friends and Night Blue + Train sounds really helps me sleep

Reminder that my second middle grade horror chapter-book SCAREWAVES: BEYOND THE GRAVE comes out this August, and i think it's pretty cool. Keep an eye out for it if you're into monsters, slime, things of that sort.

I don’t think all art is subjective because art belongs to a lineage. All art is a conversation and what people often think of as subjectivity is actually picking what side of that conversation you are on.

art is like philosophy in the sense that it's an ongoing conversation with ideas that build from its predecessors. "art is subjective" is as dismissive as it is ignorant

We released Delta Green: Countdown in 1999 for $39.99. It was considered one of the best RPG books we ever released. It was 429 pages. It took four years to make.

I STILL get emails complaining about the price.
Tabletop RPG books aren't overpriced. Not even the ones that just had price hikes.
They're specialty technical creative writing social interaction manuals.
At x2 current prices, they wouldn't be overpriced.
This is a huge part of why most ttRPG creators leave the industry.

Another, possibly MORE random question— Does anyone have experience with bullet journaling, and would be willing to walk me through setting one up for some in-character materials? My ADHDtism makes bullet journaling alien technology to me, no matter how many aesthetic youtube videos I watch.

Anyone have any experience in designing newspapers (specifically)? I'd like to create some for the ARG I'm working on, and would ideally like them to be formatted for print, in case I ever want to make actual physical, tangible copies.

Paper size, margins, programs, formatting tips all welcomed!
