As someone who has been campaigning in support of the WASPI women for many years, It’s welcome news that the government is now rethinking its earlier decision to not compensate the WASPI women. This week I urged the Secretary of State to meet with campaigners and finally deliver a fair deal.

For years, Liberal Democrats have pushed for fair compensation for WASPI women.

Yesterday’s decision is a step in the right direction - but after years of needless anguish, the Government must stop dithering and finally deliver what these women deserve.

UK Govt to rethink rejection of Waspi compensation over not informing women of pension age hike.

Last year Parliamentary Ombudsman recommended a govt apology and compensation. Govt offered no compensation.
