The Typhoon programme supports over 1,100 jobs in the South West.

So it’s fantastic that the UK has secured a deal with Turkey for 20 more of these, worth up to £8 billion.

Recently in Parliament, I met with representatives to speak further about issues affecting WASPI women in the South West, and I raised some of the specific concerns that people from South East Cornwall had shared.

I recently spoke with Duolingo again about launching a Cornish language option on their app.

It was important to learn about how they develop these language modules, and I'll be working with Cornwall Council and Duolingo to explore how we can make this a reality.

For the second year running, the Chennai Curry House in Looe has won Restaurant of the Year for Cornwall at the National Curry Awards!

What a fantastic achievement, and it really shows how great restaurants in our area are.

Fishing is the beating heart of our coastal communities and keeping this traditional way of life alive is vital to the success of our local economies.

To raise issues that fishermen have shared, I organised a meeting between the Cornish Labour MPs and the Minister for Fisheries, Angela Eagle.

The changes to Cross Country timetables will reduce vital train services across Cornwall.

I supported Jayne Kirkham's letter to the Managing Director of Cross Country, asking to meet to discuss this important issue.

Great news for jobs here in the South West.

The government has secured a deal with Turkey for 20 Typhoon fighter jets, which is worth up to £8 billion.

The Typhoon programme supports over 1,100 jobs in the wider region, so this announcement is a welcome boost for economic growth in our area.

I support the principle of making polluters pay.

In South East Cornwall, South West Water are paying to clean up waterways in Looe. This is a great start and I’ll be looking at how we can continue to make polluters pay for destroying our natural environment.

In South East Cornwall, if people don’t drive, they often have to catch unreliable public transport just to get to school or work.

I spoke with Minister for Local Transport, Lilian Greenwood, about the issues preventing our young people from getting to school from Saltash to Plymouth.

The people working, volunteering and fundraising in hospices across Cornwall do incredible work but need further support.

Speaking with Marie Curie UK, we discussed how the issues they are facing affect rural and coastal areas like ours and what needs to be changed.
