It's about time the Government is now taking action to stop driving test slots being exploited and resold at inflated prices- something I've pressed the Minister for Roads and Buses on after hearing from local learners who were being priced out of fair access to tests.

For years, Liberal Democrats have pushed for fair compensation for WASPI women.

Yesterday’s decision is a step in the right direction - but after years of needless anguish, the Government must stop dithering and finally deliver what these women deserve.

Government to rethink rejection of Waspi compensation
Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden says that the rethink does not mean that payouts will necessarily follow.

7 of the 11 most serious pollution incidents. 523 sewage spills. 121 missed environmental projects.

This is a disgrace. Our rivers and communities deserve better, and the Government must enact stronger regulations to stop the sewage scandal once and for all.

Every week of delay to the NHS Cancer Plan costs lives.
The Government’s lack of urgency here is unacceptable, which is why I’m calling for action now to fix cancer care and deliver the plan patients were promised.
People are dying while waiting for cancer treatment, yet the Government shows no urgency.

The Government must stop the endless delays and act with the urgency that families so desperately need.

I really welcome this. Scaling up our military strength is not just about tanks and ships.

It is also about morale.

Our troops could be asked to put their lives on the line to protect us. The least we can do is give them somewhere decent to live.

I’m grateful to have met with UNRWA reps in Geneva last week to hear about their vital work supporting and educating Palestinian children, and delivering aid across the region.

We also discussed the harmful disinformation circulating about their operations within the UN’s local engagement model.

When British troops died in Iraq because of poor equipment, ECHR laws ensured the government was accountable.

The ECHR was written by British lawyers and reflects our values. That’s why we voted to stay.
