Katie Wilson won 61.2% of today's ballot drop to take a commanding 1,346 vote lead over incumbent Bruce Harrell in Seattle's mayor's race. This is over.

After yesterday’s surrender, we’re launching the largest Democratic primary program that we’ve ever run.

We will not back any Senate primary candidate unless they call for Schumer to step down as Minority Leader.

If you’re as pissed as we are, join this campaign to rebuild the Democratic Party. 👇
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...

We won't be successful fighting Trump with Schumer/Durban in party leadership positions. Now is the time to put leaders in place who understand the fight we're in.

Will you call for Schumer to step aside?

Another notable thing about Zohran Mamdani: those billionaires surely spent millions on opposition research to find dirt on him, and all they could come up with was that dumb Columbia application story and the fact that he made some kinda silly rap videos.

Guy seems pretty clean!

SCOOP: Schumer was more involved than reported with the attempted cave on the government shutdown. The Gang of 8 Senate Dems had his approval & he was getting daily updates.
In Thursday's caucus meeting, the Gang claimed they had 10 votes to cave. The caucus went nuts, leading to the new proposal.
Why Does Schumer Keep Trying to Cave? - The American Prospect
Most commentators, including me, concluded that the Tuesday election victory saved Democrats from capitulating to Republican demands to pass a simple continuing resolution to re-open the government, i...

Indeed. They were part of a lonely band of journalist in Washington who were questioning the lies and misrepresentations that Bush and Cheney were tossing about to grease the way to war. Few mainstream outlets applied the skepticism that was warranted and we rushed into a disaster.
There is some sad irony in McClatchy shutting its DC bureau the same day that Dick Cheney died.

That bureau (then Knight-Ridder) did some of the best, most skeptical reporting anywhere in the run-up to the Iraq War. And they took a lot of shit for it at the time.

any deal where they don't have the exchanges and guarantees against recission/impoundment in stone is worthless. Trump and the Republicans are world class liars. If the Dems don't know this by now, they are in the wrong line of work.
Folding now over "a promised vote" would be like punting on 3rd and 2 on the opponent's 45 yard line.
Trump just showed his hand and came up with half the money for SNAP. The other half is there. Don't fold. You're gonna get fucked. AGAIN. Anyone who votes to reopen the government now, as the administration is coming apart and eating shit in the press and in the polls is trying to save Trump

There's nothing "moderate" about surrendering in exchange for "strong assurances" from congressional Republicans. That's just stupid political malpractice. Republicans are losing this fight, and Dems should hold the line!
