Today @londoncycling.bsky.social updated their most dangerous junctions. Once again, Upper Tooting Road is on top of the list. Our coordinator explains why the junction still has not been fixed ‼️

The junction between Lytton Grove and West Hill in Putney is now 9th in the LCC most dangerous junctions list after a serious incident last year and numerous near-misses over the years - but Wandsworth Council has not acted to improve it. Call on the mayor to take action: action.lcc.org.uk/junctions

Fascinating read showing how #motonormativity constrains thinking on #HammersmithBridge

Of interest to @wandsworthcycling.bsky.social #TrafficEvaporation #ModeShift
You can take out major car infrastructure and the world does not stop spinning. (see also: Gallows Corner flyover)

Ideally that's part of a rational plan to provide alternatives. But we do not live in a rational reality.

I met residents at this junction just last month to see how bad it is for walking and cycling: bsky.app/profile/caro....

They told me that TfL and Wandsworth Council have done nothing for three years to make it safer.

❓ will this junction still be the most dangerous in London in 12 months time.
Massive thanks to @wandsworthcycling.bsky.social for showing me the problem of traffic cutting across Upper Tooting Rd from side street to side street, barging in front of people crossing the road and bullying people riding bikes along CS7 out of the way.

Sadly Fleur is continuing to deliberately mislead Putney residents by claiming that the closure of Hammersmith Bridge to cars is increasing traffic in Putney.

The reality is that traffic is down on all surrounding bridges since the closure of Hammersmith Bridge.

Trust in politics 🧐

Great to see the work progressing on Streatham Hill.

The A23 here has a terrible safety record. Tragically, 3 people have been killed in the area. There've been over 70 collisions in last 3 yrs.

This scheme will make it safer for everyone with new bike lanes & ped crossings.

World Menopause Day 2025!💛

Cycling through Menopause🚴🏾‍♀️

This year marks 11 years since I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) which is sometimes referred to as premature menopause.

My journey started at 25!

It’s been a long road - but I’m still riding strong.

The Thames Path is one of the main traffic-free routes in Wandsworth, supporting school children, commuters, weekend rides and many more journeys
Where it doesn’t follow the Thames, cyclists have to mix with traffic, e.g. in Putney. Recent changes made the journey safer, have a look for yourself

Hammersmith bridge is open to pedestrians and cyclists, boosting sustainable cross-river traffic.
One of the excellent routes it enables is featured in Jon Stone’s latest video on his 'London Cycle Routes' YouTube channel: Hammersmith to Roehampton in Wandsworth.
