The junction between Lytton Grove and West Hill in Putney is now 9th in the LCC most dangerous junctions list after a serious incident last year and numerous near-misses over the years - but Wandsworth Council has not acted to improve it. Call on the mayor to take action: action.lcc.org.uk/junctions

Today @londoncycling.bsky.social updated their most dangerous junctions. Once again, Upper Tooting Road is on top of the list. Our coordinator explains why the junction still has not been fixed ‼️

🧑‍💻 Email the mayor and demand action:

The Thames Path is one of the main traffic-free routes in Wandsworth, supporting school children, commuters, weekend rides and many more journeys
Where it doesn’t follow the Thames, cyclists have to mix with traffic, e.g. in Putney. Recent changes made the journey safer, have a look for yourself

Hundreds of school children use the shared path in Tooting Common to walk and cycle to school... and then have to navigate this busy roundabout.
Furzedown Healthy Streets have started a petition to make their school journey safer!

There are many reasons we love cycling and safe cycling infrastructure 💚🚲
Here’s one of them: thanks to cargo bikes and the car-free Thames path, this dad can safely travel with three children without needing a car.
This trip helps reduce road danger, congestion and air pollution 👏

We joined the XR Wandsworth cycle ride for clean air! Expert speakers explained the different ways cars pollute the air we breathe (yes, even electric cars!). We want to see better cycle infrastructure, to get people out of their cars and clean up the air.

🌍 It was great to see so many people on today's ride to campaign for clean air in Wandsworth, and to hear from so many inspiring speakers - all wanting to improve our air quality, especially by making cycling safer for all.

Reminder for this Saturday's Air Quality cycle ride and rally in Wandsworth.

Ride: 10:30am from Battersea Park
Rally: 12pm Opposite Southside Centre

We are joint by a great panel of speakers, including @mumsforlungs.bsky.social @mowords.bsky.social @climatejoe.bsky.social @peteknapp.bsky.social

We love the Thames path but don’t like recent changes made by the council. Instead of rumble strips and pinch points, the council could have installed more mirrors to cover blind corners.
Wandsworth resident Theo has set up a petition asking to improve the Thames path: www.change.org/p/urge-wands...

🚲 Cycling is booming in Wandsworth!

Council figures show that 6.8 million trips were made using hired e-bikes in just one year. In March alone 115 thousand unique users made trips on hired e-bikes in Wandsworth. Many of these will have replaced car journeys with a more sustainable alternative.

🚫 Since the council installed anti-cycling barriers along the cycleway in Wandsworth Park, parents and children cycling to school are being put at risk. We’re calling for their immediate removal!

📢 Join us and write to simon@wandsworth.gov.uk and Cllr.J.Yates@wandsworth.gov.uk

We were delighted to attend the launch of Tooting's OurBike, hosted at Cycle Culture.

It's the newest in a growing fleet of electric cargo bikes available for hire, carrying up to 100kg, 1 adult, or 2 children.

Thanks to Douglas from OurBike and Paul from Cycle Culture

Still planning your bank holiday weekend? How about cycling along the Thames path?🚲🚲💚💚
In this video we show the ride from Putney Embankment to the London Wetland Centre in just about 10 minutes, most of it along the Thames. Just watch out for pedestrians as it could be busy 😊

🚲❤️ Great to see so many people enjoying cycling in Wandsworth, here on a protected section of CS7
More protected cycle lanes could help even more people choose cycling over driving, easing congestion for those who still need to drive

We just saw a new @cyclehoop.bsky.social bike hangar out for delivery in Wandsworth 💚🚲
it’s one of 120 hangars currently installed by the council. Check cyclehoop.rentals or rentals.falco.co.uk for the nearest location and to apply for a space

Exciting upgrades coming to A23 Streatham Hill this summer! 🚴‍♂️💚
Safer cycling and new crossings are planned, which are great for Wandsworth cyclists. A singalled crossing at Telford Ave/Wavertree Rd, supports many journeys, such as Balham to Tulse Hill or Brockwell Park.l

🚲☀️We’ve spent the weekend on our bikes enjoying the spring weather and hope you did the same. With a new video series we want to share some of the nice cycling connections in Wandsworth. This time: a quiet route from Wandsworth Common to Springfield Park

Let us know if you cycled this route before?

Glad to hear Wandsworth is installing 120 new bike hangars 🎉
Demand is huge and almost all hangars we've seen are already full. We hope for even more safe cycle storage to support active travel
