Local parents groups asking if adults can ride school buses to help protect children from ICE after a special ed bus got stopped this morning. Like a Dirty Harry movie except the villain in the federal government.

AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.

From a good friend in Minneapolis: "Target is allowing ICE to stage in their parking lots, use their restrooms, and abduct people from inside their stores - so if you weren’t boycotting already, now is the time." They were staging in Chicago as well.

Trump's thugs are going hog wild and tossing gas around in one of the busiest commercial districts in Minneapolis, just a mile or so from where I live. Complete insanity.

Pretty willd how the DOJ just straight up stopped releasing the Epstein files even though they're legally obligated to do so.

Thanks again for making sure Trump was beyond the reach of the legal system, John Roberts. I'm sure that imaginary line you drew around the Fed to say "pretty please dont fuck with the money" will hold up fine.

From the time Americans are kids, we are taught a national history that centers "get ur fucking occupying army out" as foundational to our country & our identity & Trump II comes along & these chuds are like "yes, but what if the occupying army is super arrogant & violent on top of being unwelcome"
I really think they’ve overplayed their hand here

“In an era of division and hate, where everyone seems to be at each other’s throat, it was refreshing to hear a call for respect from the President.”

Tony Dokoupil‘s closing thoughts on tonight’s @cbsnews.com
Q: "Do you believe that deadly force was necessary?"

Trump: "It was highly disrespectful of law enforcement. The woman and her friend were highly disrespectful of law enforcement…Law enforcement should not be in a position where they have to put up with this stuff."

The most disrespectful thing of all is that his mother didn’t have him aborted

The total capture of the DOJ, seemingly with very little pushback or resistance, is one of the most striking examples of the capitulation of American elites in the face of authoritarianism. It’s been less than a year, and federal prosecutions or investigations are already completely discredited.
This is just one more example of a much broader pattern: The Department of Justice targeting Trump's political enemies with made-up accusations of wrong-doing.

Trump tried to overturn an election and keep classified documents as souvenirs so he got federally prosecuted, and he used this to convince his base that law enforcement was weaponized against him — and now weaponizes law enforcement against those he dislikes without them caring.
“The U.S. attorney’s office in the District of Columbia has opened a criminal investigation into Jerome H. Powell, the Federal Reserve chair, over the central bank’s renovation of its Washington headquarters and whether Mr. Powell lied to Congress about the scope of the project…”

This is the sort of statement that was expected from every university president and law firm partner over the last year. That those statements weren’t made played a huge part in where we are now and people will remember.
Jerome Powell: "This is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions—or whether instead monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation."

Attempting to criminalize the actions of an independent public servant, Fed Chair Jay Powell, for the sin of acting independently is an outrage. It's bad economics, bad politics, bad for the rule of law, bad for the public sector, bad for American credibility and bad for Americans.
