Sorry but you really need a taster or just how eye-popping this is. From 1971. NINETEEN SEVENTY ONE.

A random bit of banter from the Radio 1 Zoe Ball breakfast show immortalised on last week’s #totp repeats. This is Broadcast Assistant Zoe Alpass after she was told she could have a pay rise if she managed to get on TV. I have no idea why I remember this stuff

Live announcers: an essential part of PSB channels - Clean Feed
It was interesting to read a claim on a forum that it was a surprise that British TV still had announcers.

I have a Pure Elan Connect+ Internet radio and I can’t seem to get streams from major broadcasters like BBC, Bauer, Virgin to work tonight. A local independent station, In Demand, does work.

Even stranger is the version on streaming has a signed copy as the cover art, and the track listing is always one song behind.
@ukpres1.bsky.social I feel duty bound to bring this to your attention, if nothing else.

As seen on after-hours TV in Melbourne, ten months after *those* Thames closedowns.

I keep saying Millionaire Hot Shots instead of Millionaire Hot Seat, and I’m pretty sure this is because of CD:UK Hot Shots, despite that programme not being on air for 20 years. My brain is something else.

Watched Millionaire Hot Seat on ITVX. In the year of our lord 2026, why can't these services a) play in 50fps, b) not jump slightly back to the end of part one when part two starts, c) not jarringly cut off the music when it decides to autoplay a different show at the end instead of fading out?

70 YEARS AGO TODAY: Angus Deayton is born. In 1986 he, Helen Atkinson-Wood and Geoffrey Perkins recruited Pamela Armstrong for a visual, if not exactly upgraded for the different medium, sketch from Radio Active.

Good morning. I have to go into work today, so to cheer myself up, here’s some stills from the opening titles for A Bit of Fry and Laurie series 2.

This is actually on BBC Four tonight, 10.55pm. Coincidence or on purpose?
30 YEARS AGO TODAY: Billy Connolly: A Scot In The Arctic, in which said Yin is stranded with just a BBC film crew for company to document what happens. Before the week is up banjo playing and nudity occur.

Well, that Elvis film was a… bizarre experience. Felt at times I was watching some surreal horror film than a biopic.

Bit confused as to why “Stuffed” (BBC One, 9pm) is highlighted as an “RT Choice” programme in the Radio Times when the reviewer concludes that “Stuffed is ultimately a turkey”.

Watching a Transformers film on ITV2 which seems to change aspect ratio literally every time the angle changes, and there’s three different aspect ratios.
