Also also, I think Granada got one of the worst typography treatments out of all the regions. It literally looks like someone opened Word 97 and typed the name out in the default Times New Roman. With apologies to @sgordonthe87.bsky.social for stealing a screenshot from one of his videos.

I also think it was a spectacularly bad idea putting a logo with a blue background on top of a blue background. It might have worked better if the logo didn’t have its own box/background.

Fond-ish memories. Not a channel I think many people will miss

Sorry I totally forgot to reply to this but yeah, I guess The Trip is sort of part travel programme part comedy, but I'll let it off because I love it so.

I agree with all of this, but a personal pet peeve is the use of theatrical aspect ratios/letterboxing in another attempt to look more ‘cinematic’. On dramas, I dislike it but I understand why they would do it. But on a documentary about a care home? There’s no need for it!

Yes! Fond memories of having to source cream/beige colour loo roll for my nan and her 80s bathroom

Weirdly I’m pretty sure I had the same examiner every time. First fail was going in wrong lane on a roundabout, second was taking too long to pass a cyclist.

I passed aged 22 after three attempts, but didn’t feel competent at driving until I got an automatic. Make sure you have an instructor whose style suits you - it helped me a lot.
