Recently I talked to a woman who had been raped about cross examination. She went into a catatonic state for 15 mins, then asked me to hold her hand, and then began to cry. We discussed whether she should refuse to give evidence - even though it would mean he got off.

And now this 👇🏻

After more than six months of disruption unleashed by the EHRC’s guidance, we’re arguing at the High Court that it is legally flawed.

I might not be able to go to the gym, but today I strapped my knee up and walked out to the retail park to get eco-friendly loo roll and 100% peanut butter.

Best part of 10,000 steps up the closest thing we have to a hill round here (a large bump compared to Devon hills 😆) - I'm shattered!

The existence of trans people is not an "ideology", BBC. It is a reality and one which Parliament has recognized.

(Entirely typical of the BBC that, confronted by a populist right attack, they will show willing by dumping on trans people. Weak with the strong, strong with the weak, as always.)

Re Extradition. The man is alleged to have used Pepper spray. It is illegal to carry or use Pepper Spray in the UK because it is considered a prohibited firearm under the Firearms Act 1968. Possession of the spray can lead to significant prison sentences. The woman was physically assaulted too.
No! This is unbelievable. #Trump Maga over here racially abusing and assaulting families. Just like mine, just travelling on the tube. Please help TFL find them and if they’ve fled let’s push to get them extradited. F*** Trump, Musk, Putin, Farage. Destroying our values, pushing hate and division.

Tea out with son. I discussed my next assignment with him (adapting my first assignment into a screenplay) and I forgot he used to be a drama kid. He had loads of helpful suggestions for me.

Turns out that your kids grow up and eventually prove useful - knew I kept him in snacks for a reason 😆

"As someone working in law, it’s heresy to say this, and it might even kill my chances of a career... But as a trans person, and someone fighting for the rights of my community, I refuse to remain silent. To me it just seems obvious: a heavily prejudiced society produces prejudiced institutions."
It’s no surprise that only 31% of trans people trust a legal system built to enforce prejudice, says Jess O’Thomson.

Had a good afternoon getting much studying done, then walked home, past the sort of clouds that made me think of castles in the sky.

The house was unusually warm when I got back, plus it smelt of spice - husband had baked the Christmas cake. How am I supposed to not eat it for ages? 😋

All these gender critical “feminists” shilling for rightwing papers who would take away women’s rights in an *instant* and never admitting the contradiction. If your feminism requires you to be on the same side as Trump, Vance, Putin, Farage, the Mail, the Telegraph, then mayyyyyyyybbbbbeeee….
The… the bbc that wrote an article about trans people that only took from a “gender critical” group and included quotes from a lesbian rapist? That bbc?

Lmao.

These people are actually deluded to think the bbc is left wing and pro trans.
Obsessive ‘gender critical’ activist-journalist - Sonia Sodha - makes gaslighting statements about the provably trans-hostile BBC! 🙄😖

It’s also pretty desperate that she’s colluding with the Telegraph to push transphobic stories (Observer not hateful enough?)

Son wanted to buy wood, and his girlfriend wanted to buy bedsheets, so husband drove everyone out to Dunelm and B&Q, where they bought us tea.

Then home for board games, followed by dinner. Later we're watching The Fantastic Four, and maybe light the fire. So a good afternoon!
