My (almost!) 3-year old nephew insisted on giving me these for Christmas. I don’t have the heart to get rid of them, but what on earth am I going to do with eight ugly dolls in my apartment?? 😩

A friend suggested that I give The StoryGraph another try. It’s an app similar to Goodreads but without the concerns associated with incorporating more of your life/data into an Amazon-controlled ecosystem. Do other Bluesky book readers have experience with it?

I managed to read 31 books this year. Most were from @foreignaffairs.com’s Best of 2024 list that they released last December. With few exceptions (I’m primarily looking at you, “What Is Queer Food” 😒), I enjoyed or loved every book I mashed to get through in 2025!

Thinking so much about how every client's wishlist was physical or financial, and no one asked for someone kind, loving, sensitive, or funny. Those qualities are the most enduring in a partner. Bodies and careers change a lot faster than personalities do.

A woman just stopped by my office and gave me a dozen cupcakes and a Bundt cake “just because!” 😦

Shoutout to the Severna Park “Nothing Bundt Cakes” location for their generosity!

It's been well over twenty years, and this will probably make absolutely zero sense to anyone else except me, but I just thought about when a classmate of mine misunderstood the word "烟" for "秘密" and was asking around the bar if anyone had any that they could give him, to super confused stares.

Watching Pluribus on AppleTV - the concept is interesting but Carol is still pretty insufferable in Episode 3.

The Trump administration’s military strikes on alleged drug boats are “blatantly unlawful as a matter of U.S. domestic law—and a quickly spreading stain on whatever is left of the executive branch’s commitment to the rule of law.”

Me on “extrajudicial killings” in the latest issue of “One First”:
188. Five Questions About "Extrajudicial Killings"
There is no obvious legal argument to support President Trump's expanding campaign of strikes against alleged drug boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. And the implications are even scarier.
