Watching Pluribus on AppleTV - the concept is interesting but Carol is still pretty insufferable in Episode 3.

The Trump administration’s military strikes on alleged drug boats are “blatantly unlawful as a matter of U.S. domestic law—and a quickly spreading stain on whatever is left of the executive branch’s commitment to the rule of law.”

Me on “extrajudicial killings” in the latest issue of “One First”:
188. Five Questions About "Extrajudicial Killings"
There is no obvious legal argument to support President Trump's expanding campaign of strikes against alleged drug boats in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. And the implications are even scarier.

When you’re the second one to crawl into bed and your bedroom is pitch black, your partner is sprawled out on your side, sweating on your pillow and drooling where your back is going to be laying for the rest of the night. 🥲

Still thinking about all of the Ethiopian food I shoveled into my mouth with my hands on Saturday evening.

Ohhh! A 30-episode television series helmed by Wong Kar Wai? 😯

Nonsense complaint but what’s happened to opening Instagram links? Why does it force you to the Apple App Store instead of just opening the app itself? Why not open the content that someone has sent me a direct link to instead of just opening the app at my own normal home/landing page?

I remember being in high school, and an older schoolmate was an absolute D'Angelo fanatic who would make all of us listen to "Devil's Pie" on repeat during art class.

Apropos of nothing, I haven't seen a single episode of the American reality television series "Big Brother" since Season 3 in the summer of 2002.

This kind of reminds me of my old Beyoncé x Samsung UPSTAGE mobile phone that I had back in 2007 🤔

Currently reading "Proto: How One Ancient Language Went Global," by Laura Spinney. This one explores the origins & spread of Proto-Indo-European, the ancient language that gave rise to many modern languages across Europe & Asia. I'm liking its interweaving of linguistics, archeology, & genetics!

So I've been operating under the assumption that Celcius was just another kind of alcoholic seltzer, but they're actually just another kind of Red Bull or Monster energy drink?

Not only did I get to see the Orioles beat the Yankees this evening, but DUNKIN’ was giving out free $5 gift cards and pairs of these ridiculous sunglasses outside of Camden Yards!

Just finished reading S.A. Cosby’s “Razorblade Tears” and phew - that one was kind of a doozy! I don’t usually read crime fiction or crime noir but it was good!

I'm taking a mini-break from Marcel Proust (😒) and reading S.A. Cosby's "Razorblade Tears" instead.

Did anyone in the 1980s ever watch “Unico in the Island of Magic?" It was Japanese anime featuring a young unicorn named Unico who battles an evil magician named Lord Kuruku, who wants to turn all living creatures into undead puppets. It was super dark for a child to be watching & it was always on!

Literacy affects more than university reading lists.

For one thing, increasing literary sophistication seems to lead to increasing political sophistication
Is the decline of reading making politics dumber?
As people read less they think less clearly, scholars fear

Started reading Marcel Proust’s “Swann’s Way,” the first volume from his work, “In Search of Lost Time,” because someone HIGHLY recommended it. I’m thinking I made a mistake listening to the advice of a university literature professor. So far, the narrator comes off as a revolting narcissist to me.

Someone stopped by my office today and immediately commented that I reminded them of Bob Belcher from "Bob's Burgers." I said that while I probably physically resemble Bob because of the mustache that I'm currently sporting, I'm actually much more like Tina Belcher in personality and disposition.
