WICKED is fine. a decently entertaining adaptation of wonderful source material. Grande is the standout; thinking of the movie without her is a little grim. it looks terrible, 'Defying Gravity' especially is poorly lit cgi slop. inoffensive as far as massive blockbusters go, but feels disappointing.

The way I’d put it is…a not insignificant portion of the internet—and the world, I guess—defines themselves not by the things they do and love, but their opposition to others. When you take that away, they’re bereft of purpose.

CONCLAVE is a mid film that's worth a watch with delicious ritual and pomp and impassioned men yelling at each other. there's one good monologue/homily on faith/religion, and the final twist is so incoherent it can't be called anything but stupid, even though i think its going for *something*

theres policy solutions (affordable college ed, union rights, etc) but imo the "men are going right" thing is mostly cultural. trump/the nu right is very smart in its masculine cultural production: joe rogan, UFC, barstool, etc.
