A delightful diversion parodying the political musings of our time concerning Alberta, Canadian affairs, and the tumultuous intrigues of American governance! Such an endeavor, when graced with the keen wit and sparkling irony of Miss Austen, is a treasure.

What do you call someone who is always traveling around with a bunch of people wearing swastikas?

A nazi.
It's somehow both wildly underreported and just out in the open that the vice president is either a neo-Nazi or, at a bare minimum, a neo-Nazi fellow traveler.
Fascinating. Politico notes that when notified of the texts, many state-level Republicans fired or condemned these cretins. Now Vance emerges to excuse the racism, and calls the reaction to it "pearl clutching."

He seems determined to purge the party of its last enclaves of decency.

You learn how to make do with one testicle.
Watters: What is it like being married to Stephen Miller?

Miller: He's an incredibly inspiring man who gets me going in the morning with his speeches being like let's start the day, I'm going to defeat the left and we are going to win.

What Melvin should have said just to have Trump's brain go ka-blooey.....

"Do you think this is why Trump never wins the Nobel Peace Prize?"
MELVIN: The president repeatedly did say though that he would end the war on day 1, and we are some 250 days into the administration

MARCO RUBIO: Yeah, but that's not up to us to end the war

MELVIN: Repeatedly on the campaign trail he said he would end it on day 1

We're living in the beginning of the end of civilization.

Catastrophic global political events occur more frequently, with no period of recovery, as the planet's climate becomes more inhospitable to life.
What's your take on the moment we're living through in 50 words or less. [you able to quote post]

Not just any old gilt. It's plastic gilt.
Would a shrink say there could be a subconscious link between the words gilt and guilt?

At what point do newsroom wide goodbye notes at the Washington Post, just start getting sent to "Bob in Graphics"?
Four more WaPo departures: Hank Stuever, Ann Hornaday, Craig Timberg, Joel Achenbach. Source says it feels like the Hunger Games: “My inbox has literally dozens of announcements of departures or newsroom wide goodbye notes.”

Right-wingers believe that we have machines that control the weather by zapping the atmosphere with electromagnetic waves.

But they refuse to believe that the millions of machines we've built to burn 100,220,000 barrels of oil every day could possibly be changing the weather.

Sorry, but RFK Jr is going to slip you a placebo, instead.....
This is unethical af.

RFK is going to require "all new vaccines...to undergo placebo testing, a procedure in which some people receive the vaccine and others receive an inert substance — such as a saline shot — before the results are compared."

PBS sane-washes Trump's irrational quest for illegitimate territorial expansion.

Canada does not have a friend in PBS.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly said Canada should be the 51st U.S. state as he proposes to erase the 5,525-mile-long border that separates the two countries.

Here’s what it would take to transform Canada from a nation to a state.
Trump’s remarks on Canada becoming the 51st state raise a lot of questions

Dear Mark Carney:

In the age of the rising hostile Fascist threat, refusing to get a security clearance is beyond irresponsible.

Time to hit Poilievre hard on his reluctance to get security clearance, and I mean hard.

There are points to be scored here.
This is a no-brainer: a Granny who wants to volunteer at a school lunch program has to get a security clearance.
And yet Pierre Poilievre who lives in a 19-room mansion funded by the taxpayer refuses or can't get a security clearance.
Something stinks here.
