It is very weird seeing my friends and family slowly start to realize we're not overreacting.
Read every word & share with everyone you know. This is real life here in Chicago. Americans need to know this grotesque reality & stand with us.
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

The theory of no health insurance is so much less brutal than the reality.

Watching my mother lose touch with reality because she couldn’t endure pain that she didn’t have to was breathtakingly brutal.

Readers may feel bad & that’s okay but what are you going to do about it?

Go get organized.
One reason I hated democrats when I was a child is that we didn’t have insurance and the dems were in charge and my mom died slowly because of lack of healthcare.

It seemed like a taunt that dems would talk about pro choice being a decision between a woman and her doctor. Not for us apparently.

Did Seattle just have a lil earthquake or was that the guy doing dramatic pull-up’s on the other side of the machine I’m using at the gym?

I double majored in journalism and women’s and gender studies in college.

The most annoying people in both classes who were not majors were the philosophy majors and the athletes.

The least annoying people in both kinds of classes were the athletes who were sincerely engaging with the material.

Yeah we’re VOTORS just for starters, and a lot of sex workers are social media influencers with huge followings. I’m so sick of this dehumanizing rhetoric
Axios tried to bust James Talarico for following adult content creators on Instagram and I'm genuinely impressed by his campaign's response

Honestly, we need politicians who respect sex workers way more than we need those who only respect lobbyists.

The main difference is that Bluesky mods now have the understanding of sexuality akin to me at 16 so they’re prudish and child-like at the same time.

I pick this over the cheese grinder of mutant nazi politics (x) any day tho.
I’m happy on Bluesky because I started microblogging 25 years ago and this is the most dignified way to have my midlife crisis.

Or perhaps people are mobilizing like they never have before with no leadership in sight.

Are they stupid or are they desperate for leadership that old guard dems have failed to offer them?
There is a distinct possibility that some people are too stupid to participate in a democracy

Per NBC News exit polls, women went for Cuomo at a higher rate than men across all party affiliations. Which seems weird for a notoriously creepy pervert!
