An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Famously the happiest people were medieval peasants living until the old age of 30, while watching half of their kids die before the age of five from dysentery or “the sweats”. Then came civilization and ruined it all...
My one big gripe with techies/transhumanists is I don't think we need new tools. I think we need to completely re-evaluate our relationship with everything in the world. More tools won't get us out of anything.

I'm sorry, I don't believe that. Plenty of people are successfully raising families in 30 square meter apartments in Berlin and Vienna, even academics. I know tons of people working for NGOs, many with kids. Please don't validate misperceptions of what level of affluence is "needed."

Why do so many chain restaurant mobile apps have the same UX bug:
- I want to order pickup
- Automatically chooses restaurant closest to my current location
- I manually choose one near my home, on my way back, and order
- Somehow it reset the location to the one I was nearby when ordering.

So let me get this straight, @eurogamer.bsky.social has lowered ARC Raiders score from 5/5 to 2/5 for text-to-speech which according to them is “AI”, but gave Black Ops 7 a 3/5 despite this game being literally just AI slop, and a steaming pile of crap that got 1.5/10 user score?
