One of my spiny flower mantises was doing poorly yesterday. I gave her water and honey, and figured she'd at least die comfortably.

that's not to say that the categories can't shift and change, but the refusal to acknowledge how much of a fight it was for the categories to Exist is to me a form of denialism tantamount of epistemological genocide when considering the important power of words to give a voice to our experiences.

i just dont think the indie ttrpg space has any meaningful overlap with the dnd space besides that there's a lot of people in both spaces, a bit like how there's also a lot of overlap with board games or fantasy movies

I'm going to spring off of this with some thoughts.
One thing that is often important to me in games, and why I tend to prefer rule heavy games, is what I call "texture": it is like flavor, but imparted by mechanics.

It has a very large number of mechanical options paired to some light (and fairly bioessentialist but w/e) flavor. But over 95% of those mechanical options relate exclusively back to your capacity for violence. Which is fine! Wargames are cool!
