Just sickening

This man is totally spineless and appears to have no principles whatsoever

Thank God I gave up my long-standing Labour membership a year ago

He needs to go and be replaced with someone who is not willing to be Trump's grovelling lapdog

@damedianajohnson.bsky.social Labour needs to get rid of Starmer now.
Utterly craven & contemptible.
Starmer asked to respond to Trump breaking international law and seizing the leader of another sovereign nation replies that it is his "responsibility" to have a good relationship with the US President.

"I have stepped up that responsibility [and] I do get on with President Trump," he tells the BBC

There is no political way to smooth this for Starmer. He MUST condemn the US actions completely and unreservedly, otherwise he opens the door to China to do exactly the same to Taiwan.

if you’re defending Starmer, I really hope you recognise that you’re now on the side against already vulnerable, marginalised people

maybe do some self-reflection as to why that might be, yeah?
a lot of you are white, cishet, non-disabled Brits tying yourselves into pretzels to minimise the valid concerns of racialised, queer, trans, disabled, and/or immigrant people

and you folks think you’re the good guys? lol

Yes, very much agree with this. The real anger at Starmer from my left wing and liberal circles is the immigration and Palestine based decisions. But especially the former of the two. Labour simply does not understand who its supporters are (were). There is no workable Reform-to-Labour strategy.
And the reasons for that are not hard to find - Starmer’s unpopularity among left-liberals is the logical, arguably even intended consequence of 18 months of comms and policy which alienates and angers left-liberals while winning over no one on right. This is the cake his team have baked themselves.

Need one eye on next GE. Streeting won’t be the alternative that Labour badly needs, another Starmerite who’ll prolong the Tory tribute act. Whether there’s time for a new leader to drag them leftwards & form some sort of ‘29 coalition with Greens/Libs to keep Farage out of power remains to be seen 🤔
“A coronation rather than a contest to install him as Labour leader”, you say.

It could be argued the working class have no longer got any representation at national level.

Keir Starmer is likely to be the last labour prime minister, and has pushed the party so far right that no-one will vote for them again. He has abandoned the socialist ideals to pander to the right.
